LinkExchange Launches "Revenue Avenue"

LinkExchange, which was acquired by Microsoft last month, has launched an affiliate hub called Revenue Avenue designed to allow small businesses to generate more revenue and enhance site content.

Small businesses can join affiliate programs or start their own through LinkExchange's ClickTrade service.

Revenue Avenue is a resource for more than 1,000 online affiliate programs bringing more than 30,000 Web site owners together with relevant merchants for revenue-generating opportunities. As members of an affiliate program, Web site owners can place links to other sites and be paid for generated clicks, leads or sales, LinkExchange said.

In conjunction with the launch of Revenue Avenue, the MSNnetwork is kicking off a promotion for Web site owners to join the MSN affiliate program. Members of the program will be paid for generating traffic or driving paying customers to selected MSN sites.

Participating MSN sites include the Encarta multimedia encyclopedia, the Expedia travel service, the CarPoint online automotive service, MSN Gaming Zone, the Sidewalk online guide, the HomeAdvisor online real estate service, the MoneyCentral personal finance online service and the Slate online magazine.

"Revenue Avenue builds on our strategy to help our small-business members start earning revenue from and drive traffic to their sites," said Mark Bozzini, CEO of LinkExchange. "This service makes it easy for members to join programs and take advantage of special offers by best-of-breed sites, like MSN, which can increase their revenue potential quickly."

LinkExchange, which began as a banner network, now offers a variety of services to small site operators, including the original banner exchange, Express Store ad campaigns starting as low as $50, the Submit It! Search engine submission service, an e-mail list service and Merchant Planet, which allows small businesses to create an online store and accept credit cards to sell merchandise online.
