NetGravity Appoints Scott Briggs to Board of Directors

NetGravity named Scott Briggs, former Ziff Davis president and veteran of the electronic publishing industry, to its board of directors.

"After 17 years in the high-tech industry, I have experienced both the PC and Internet revolutions and am more excited by the industry than ever," said Briggs. "The changes over the next five years will dwarf those of the previous 17, and NetGravity is in a privileged position to play a significant role in the revolution. There is nothing more central to the Internet than the information exchanges we generally call 'advertising', and I'm delighted to be part of a company which has been and will continue to be the leader in enabling this area of the Net."

"We are seeing increasing demand in the marketplace for our products and services, both domestically and internationally. I'm looking forward to working with Scott to take NetGravity to the next level in Internet advertising and marketing," said John Danner, chief executive officer of NetGravity.

Briggs served as president of Ziff Davis for more than six years. Notable events during his tenure include the creation of three subsidiaries and nine publications throughout Europe and significant operations in the Far East. In addition, Briggs created the Ziff Davis Consumer Media Group, for the home and gaming sectors of computer-related publishing. During this same period, Briggs was involved in the development of ZDNet, a Web Site operation for computing and Internet content. Briggs left Ziff Davis in 1997, and remains an active consultant to the company. He is currently a board member of four Internet-related startup companies and senior adviser to Red Herring Communications.
