Vauxhall Motors, a European division of General Motors, will use technology from EyeWonder to stream TV spots within online ads and Web site content, promoting the launches of the new Meriva and Signum models.
Vauxhall has licensed streaming video player EyeWonder's Eyeris G3TM solution, which can be used to create interactive video ads and track impressions, user interaction rates and percent of video being viewed.
"The EYERIS G3 solution overcomes many of the barriers to providing a high quality, enjoyable consumer experience," said Paul Fitzpatrick, customer communications manager of carlines for Vauxhall Motors. "The idea of effortlessly reaching the Internet audience with video and audio is a powerful capability whose time has come."
In addition to appearing on Vauxhall's site, the ads are running on several European Web sites, including Autosport, GQ magazine, iVillage (Europe), MSN (Europe), Yahoo! (Europe), and Weather.com.
Mailblocks, provider of a Web-based e-mail service that purports to eliminate spam, has recruited several technology, media and advertising execs as advisors to the company.
New advisors include Topica CEO Anna Zornosa, Google's Director of Agency Relations Christopher Theodoros, CBS MarketWatch.com's EVP of Sales and Marketing Scot McLernon, Vantage Point Ventures Partner David Carlick, and analyst Gerry Purdy.
"Each of these individuals brings a wealth of experience in building high-tech companies and great products/services," said Mailblocks' CEO Phil Goldman. "We look forward to their sage counsel and know they will be catalysts for future improvements to our service."
