E-dialog Gets Funding From Interpublic Group

E-mail direct marketing firm E-dialog Friday rounded up funding from venture capitalists and giant ad conglomerate , The Interpublic Group of Companies.

Though the amount of the funding was not disclosed, the company also struck a deal to develop new e-mail solutions for the agencies in IPG's stable of companies.

The financing and the strategic deal are big boosts for the firm. They provide E-dialog more resources to further develop its products, more potential customers through IPG's agencies and helps the company begin to extend its reach internationally. Interpublic agencies include the McCann-Erickson World Group, the Lowe Group, Carmichael Lynch, and Draft Worldwide. The company has operations in 127 countries.

"IPG companies work with many of the world's best-known brands, which are demanding a rapid convergence of traditional advertising and marketing methods with Internet-enabled services," says John Rizzi, president and CEO of E-Dialog.

"E-Dialog will help IPG's companies meet the demand for world-class e-mail solutions, with the high-quality service that their clients expect."

E-dialog plans to use the new money to develop new e-mail marketing products. The company's primary product is what it calls a "Digital Direct Marketing System," a process for managing e-mail campaigns, and it's working on a solution called "Quick Reply," which enables secure e-commerce transactions through e-mail.
