Ofoto Unveils National Print Ad Effort

Online photo player Ofoto on Monday outlined plans for a national print advertising campaign, which will include sponsorship of the prestigious Alfred Eisenstaedt Awards for Magazine Photography.

The "Smile" campaign, aimed at increasing brand recognition for the company and its service, features portraits of typical Ofoto customers taken by art and celebrity portrait photographer Timothy Greenfield-Sanders, whose work is in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art and the Whitney Museum in New York.

The ads send the message that it's easy for people to share photos with friends and family via the Internet, and that everyone can get prints of the shots they like. Spending for the campaign wasn't disclosed.

The campaign will appear in publications like People, Martha Stewart Living, Parents Magazine, Men's Journal, Yahoo! Internet Life, Wired and Popular Photography.

Ofoto provides a storage and image-sharing space for pictures taken with a digital camera or with a film camera, and delivers high-quality prints by request. The company competes with Snapfish and Shutterfly.com.
