Following the lead of DoubleClick (DCLK), CMGI's (CMGI) Engage Technologies on Thursday created two new privacy-related positions in the company -- group director of privacy and public policy, and director of privacy compliance and corporate counsel.
Mark Horan, in the first role, will work with Engage's (ENGA) marketing team on corporate privacy initiatives. Trevor Hughes, in the second role, will work with the company's legal team to ensure that Engage complies with its own privacy policies, and to encourage clients to do the same.
Horan most recently worked as a vice president for state government affairs for AT&T Inc. (T) Prior to working for AT&T, he worked for the US House Subcommittee on Telecommunications for US Representative Edward Markey.
Hughes worked for five years at UnumProvident Corp., the world's largest provider of disability income protection and services, where he was assistant counsel and provided legal support for their advertising and e-commerce functions.
