Immerce Moves to Weekly Ad Auction Schedule

Fremont, CA-based online ad sales site Immerce, which formally launched last week, said it plans weekly auctions to make the purchase of low-priced Internet advertising more convenient for media buyers and advertisers.

Immerce said its Advertising Exchange experienced a tenfold increase in available inventory between the last two auctions held in March. The next Web- based auction takes place on April 6.

Immerce also announced a service for media buyers who do not have time to place bids. The BuyNow! format is designed for media buyers that know their target audience and are interested in buying ad space immediately, at a fixed price (no bidding), the company said. BuyNow! Ad inventory is available for purchase 24 hours a day through a shopping cart technology.

"We want to offer buyers the most convenient way to purchase low-priced Internet advertising on a very large number of sites," said Christine Laranang, director of marketing for Immerce, which competes with San Francisco-based Adauction.com. "Increasing the auction frequency and adding the Open-to-Buy proxy service makes the Immerce Auctions more accessible to busy media buyers."

Through the Internet Advertising Exchange, Immerce said it plans to simplify and improve the process of buying and selling Internet advertising, including banner ads, targeted e-mail and sponsorships. Media Buyers may register for free. Space is available on sites such as NetZero, CatalogWorld, Kingfine, DiscJockey, WinDrivers, Screensaver, MetroActive, Boulevards and Igames, the company said.
