Merrimack, NH-based PC Connection Inc., a direct marketer of computers and accessories, signed a marketing deal with the Boston Red Sox.
PC Connection will be one of only three companies to advertise in the outfield in Fenway Park in more than 50 years. In partial exchange for the advertising, PC Connection will supply computing products to the Red Sox organization and benefit from other promotional opportunities.
The outfield sign will give the company regular exposure with the over two million fans that visit Fenway Park each year, as well as the millions of fans that watch the team on television. Financial arrangements were not disclosed.
The sign will highlight PC Connection's Web site, as well as the company's ability to process computing orders and deliver products the next day. Internet sales of $27.1 million during the first quarter of 1999 accounted for 12 percent of total net sales for PC Connection. Total Internet-sourced sales for 1998 were $62.7 million.
