Data Return Corporation (USDC) is a provider of managed hosting services for the Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 2000 platform.
As an application infrastructure provider (AIP), Data Return will supply eMake with all of the infrastructure and systems management necessary to deliver the services of the eMake software suite.
"eMake is targeting an estimated 385,000 small-to-midsize make-to-order manufacturers; therefore we needed a hosting provider who could scale to address this global market," John Kovich, USDATA VP of infrastructure, said, "Data Return was able to address our scalability concerns as well as our technical requirements, which included experience with deploying complex applications that utilize Microsoft Windows 2000."
eMake provides a comprehensive solution for make-to-order manufacturers that includes business and production functionality. eMake's solution provides quality, production, materials management, engineering, distribution, management, finance and human resources through an Internet-based application service.
"Effective infrastructure management is critical for growing ASPs like eMake, yet by outsourcing this key responsibility to Data Return, eMake can instead focus on helping manufacturers increase control over their operations and their supply chain," said Sunny C. Vanderbeck, Data Return chairman and CEO.
The packaged eMake solution includes both a licensed and an ASP version, all with Internet connectivity to myemake.com.
The subscription-based myemake.com is the core of the eMake Internet solution, offering a tightly integrated and secure environment for publishing shop-floor data to the Internet. This allows manufacturers and their customers and suppliers a secure, real-time connection to the production process, reducing the loss of resources when making order changes.
The myemake.com site will also feature eMake Market, a commerce component that will offer online bidding, purchasing and selling.
