Asera Announces New Client, International Expansion

Earlier this week, B2B Internet solutions provider Asera, Inc. announced that thin-client computing Wyse Technology is using the Asera eService to automate and accelerate its process of marketing, selling and supporting products over the Web through distribution channels.
Asera, Inc. activated Wyse's e-business site in 90 days, with plans to activate additional services to provide expanded functionality and value-added services to its customers. This activation enables Wyse's distributors to easily do business with Wyse online.
Explaining the concept behind this connection, Kurt Garbe, chief operating officer, said, "Wyse wanted to make it easy for their customers to do business with them. Wyse will continue to enhance the applications to their distributors and we have taken the approach to remain open to any new functionality that Wyse may bring in."
Wyse's top priority was to accelerate its order entry fulfillment processes, and first activated the commerce services which include an online catalog, order entry, order status and administrative services.
We've been planning this since day one," Garbe said. "If you are going to have an international presence, it must be part of the business plan from day one."
Asera opened offices in Munich, Germany and London this week. Gene Greiner and Michael Hunt will serve as president and vice president of the European initiative.
Garbe also told ASP-News that Asera is in partnership discussions pertaining to the opening of an Asia office. "Most likely, there will be two Asia offices," he said. "One in Japan and one either in Hong Kong, Singapore or China." The Asia offices are expected to open late 2000 or early 2001.
