Interliant Breaks Small Biz Barriers to HR, Payroll Solutions

Interliant, Inc. Tuesday launched its Web-based payroll and human resources solution designed to serve the basic needs of small business enterprises.

Interliant's solution consists of a standard package of payroll modules, benefits management, and human resource functions.

Accessible over the Web, the application service provider delivers many of the benefits available to Fortune 500 companies, to smaller online businesses. Users pay a fixed monthly fee of $8,000, which includes toll-free application support seven days a week, 24 hours a day

Randy Atkin, Interliant vice president of enterprise resource planning solutions, said many small to medium enterprises considered advanced payroll and human resource programs were out reach of their budgets and provided services they did not really need.

"SMEs today hesitate to invest in a full-scale payroll and HR management system because the capabilities of such a system are simply more than they need," Atkin said. "But these same companies can benefit from a basic solution that helps them quickly and cost-effectively put to use an outsourced payroll and HR capability."

Interliant is one of the pioneers of application service rentals. Its portfolio included messaging and knowledge management, security, e-commerce, customer relationship management, enterprise resource planning, distributed learning, and Web-site hosting services.
