Telseon's Optical Network Technologies Implemented by Storage Link

Denver-headquartered Telseon, a provider of instantly scalable optical networks, announced that Storage Link has implemented Telseon's Gigabit Ethernet network to provide its enterprise customers with Web-based, bandwidth management.

Telseon's Ethernet technologies enable customers to establish virtual connections from their locations to any other authorized point on the Telseon metropolitan network. With Telseon, Storage Link can extend its storage management services to multiple data centers in the metro without building an infrastructure for each location. Storage Link customers can now point-and-click to instantly adjust their bandwidth on a Gigabit Ethernet network.

Storage Link uses Ethernet technology to deliver business continuation and data protection solutions to tenants of Internet data centers looking to centralize their storage needs. Telseon offers an Ethernet-based technology platform that enables instant bandwidth scalability, rapid Web-based provisioning and integration with value-added software for critical functions such as storage, content and customer relationship management.

"Partnering with Telseon gives us immediate access to a premier metro gage network that allows us to focus on deploying storage services rather than building private networks for our rapidly growing customer base," said Carlos Roman, chief information officer, Storage Link. "Now our customers can manage their data on a seamless, secure network with up to 1000Mbps of bandwidth - yet only pay for what they use."

The storage requirements of enterprise companies are dramatically increasing in today's Internet-based economy. As a result, enterprises are choosing to outsource storage management rather than create and maintain an infrastructure to support it. According to GartnerGroup, the North American storage utility market will grow from less than $10 million in 1999 to $8 billion by the end of 2003.

Storage Link is a supplier of business continuation and data protection services to corporations. Storage Link's outsourced services include backup and restore, disaster recovery, online archiving, as well as professional services to assist enterprises in deploying and maintaining in-house business continuation capabilities. Storage Link enables enterprises to outsource this critical piece of data management for reasons of cost, reliability, timeliness, security, disaster tolerance, and limited resources.

Headquartered in Denver, Colorado, Teleson's high-bandwidth IP services allow customers to extend their network reach to meet their data communications needs. Teleson receives support from a number of well-respected venture capital and investment firms including Crosspoint Venture Partners, DLJ, The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc., Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, Pivotal Asset Management and Sevin Rosen Funds.
