B2B software developer WebPutty Wednesday says it has named David Chamberlain as its new CEO.
Chamberlain supplants James Beldock, who is expected to stay on as chairman and chief technology officer at the San Jose, Calif.-based company.
The company says the restructuring plan allows Beldock to focus on overall strategy and its relation to the company's technology, while Chamberlain, who joined WebPutty in May as Executive Vice President and General Manager of Field Operations, will use his extensive management experience to grow the business and lead the organization to continued success.
"Our company has reached an important turning point," says Beldock. "As our customer list continues to grow rapidly, the next few years will be critical for WebPutty to establish technical dominance in the application flexibility space. Dave's promotion will allow me to dedicate myself to WebPutty's technology and strategy while collaborating with the core executive management team to help run the company."
WebPutty's main product, its Application Flexibility Server, allows applications to be modified and maintained incrementally using only a Web browser and supports the entire Microsoft Windows DNA and .NET platforms. The company's point-and-click applications are wireless and Web services-ready and can be deployed to any Web browser or browser-enabled handheld device.
