Oracle Picks DataDirect Drivers

DataDirect Technologies, Inc., of Rockville, Md., has announced an OEM agreement with Oracle Corp. to provide DataDirect Connect JDBC drivers as embedded components within Oracle9i Application Server. Using the drivers, Oracle software developers will be able to simplify data connectivity between Java applications built on Oracle9iAS and a variety of leading relational and mainframe databases including Sybase, DB2, Informix and Microsoft SQL Server.

"We tested DataDirect Connect JDBC drivers with our Oracle9i Application Server. The drivers were not only high performing, but they supported the full JDBC specification required to help us obtain J2EE certification," said Thomas Kurian, vice president of Oracle9iAS at Oracle Corp. "The combination of DataDirect Technologies' industry-leading JDBC drivers with Oracle9iAS will enable our customers to rapidly develop enterprise-class applications that require access to a variety of data sources."
