WebEvent Pencils In VP

WebEvent, an Andover, Mass., maker of Web-based scheduling software, has named Andrew Sherman, formerly of NaviSite, as vice president of sales and business development.

He has 25 years experience in the Internet, software, telecommunications, and hardware segments of the IT industry.

James Cameron, WebEvent's president and CEO said, "The momentum from his recent accomplishments -- not to mention his proven sales and business development skills -- will help WebEvent achieve the next level of success."

Most recently, Sherman was vice president of sales at NaviSite , a managed hosted services provider. He helped build the firm from a startup to a public company.

In addition, Sherman held sales positions at IBM, MCI Telecommunications and Apple Computer.

WebEvent was founded in 1997 and is privately held. The company's software allows users to access and amend a personal calendar. The company has more than 2,000 customers including 500 universities.
