Concordant Service Stresses Security

Concordant, a North Chelmsford, Mass., information technology (IT) consulting firm, has launched a new offering aimed at bolstering the security of its clients systems.

Using a scorecard approach, Concordant identifies vulnerabilities and provides recommendations to enhance security from internal and external threats. The review includes personal, workgroup, business-unit or enterprise systems.

"What really makes our program unique is our approach to IT security, always looking at the welfare of the IT infrastructure within the enterprise as a whole," said Sean Megley, of Concordant. "We do a lot more than just scan the hardware and software. We scrutinize every aspect of the operation that affects security including personnel, policies, training, data access and monitoring practices."

The comprehensive approach is especially valuable in regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals, banking and health care, Megley said.

To make their analysis even more useful to management, Concordant has integrated software into its program. These include a variety of intrusion detection tools, policy management and monitoring tools such as the VigilEnt Policy Center from PentaSafe, and the widely recognized QPR Scorecard Tool.

Concordant is privately held. Customers include WGBH, HR Logic, Citizens Bank, Roger Williams Medical Center and Vista Medical.
