Xevo Inks BT Ignite

Xevo Corp., the Marlborough, Mass.-based provider of service management software, today announced that it has signed a contract with BT Ignite, BT Group's international broadband and solutions business, for the supply of its XevoWorks service management software.

The deal will enable BT Ignite to automate its provision of Microsoft Exchange 2000 to its online business customers throughout the UK through the ASP model.

Xevo says its XevoWorks solution extends BT Ignite's reach of its ASP-based portfolio by giving its customers access to a range of productivity, human resources and e-commerce applications.

According to research conducted recently for BT Ignite by NOP World, 96 percent of UK companies would consider using an ASP.

Says Colin Lilburn, head of Business Productivity Products, BT Ignite Products and Marketing: "By incorporating XevoWorks into our ASP offering for Microsoft Exchange Online, BT Ignite is lowering the barriers to entry for companies who recognise the benefits of ASPs."

"Xevo's open, XML-based architecture allows BT Ignite to easily integrate XevoWorks into our existing systems, which gives us the critical flexibility we need to grow our ASP offerings," he continues.

BT Ignite will also use XevoWorks' Web-based Delegated Administration functionality to enable customers to manage their own accounts and view system and usage reports in order to help manage costs. "We are interested to see a leading carrier advance in this market -- particularly in the UK -- as it implies strongly that the industry is ready for further adoption of this model," he says.

Says Michael Dering, Xevo's President and CEO: "BT Ignite has extensive experience with provisioning systems and understand the need to build a scalable solution from the start. Xevo is excited to be working with a strong international player."
