Redline Networks, which specializes in optimizing Web performance, Tuesday named Roy Johnson as its new president and CEO as well as to its board of directors. Johnson replaces Faye Pairman at CEO.
Johnson is expected to direct the company's business and technology strategy and establish a sustainable leadership position for the company in the high-growth Internet infrastructure market.
"Roy is the ideal choice to lead Redline Networks," says Redline chairman Robert Finocchio, Jr. "Redline has made significant progress bringing innovative Web acceleration products to market and establishing a viable sales and distribution network. Roy has demonstrated leadership in building momentum, sustaining innovation and strengthening customer relationships."
Previously Johnson held the post of vice president of Marketing and Business Development at 2Wire. Before that he spent a 13-year tenure at 3Com Corporation where he held numerous senior executive positions.
The Campbell, Calif.-based company says its Real-Time Acceleration appliances let companies increase the transaction capacity of their existing Web infrastructure by up to 20 times as well as speeding up download times and cutting bandwidth costs.
