According to the Marlborough, Mass.-based Xevo, DATAKOM will use the automated service provisioning, metering and subscriber management capabilities of the XML-based XevoWorks to enable its service provider customers to offer software as a service. Initially, DATAKOM will offer Microsoft Exchange 2000 and Microsoft Office applications.
"DATAKOM, as a leading provider of telecommunications services, places an emphasis on reliable provisioning, as it is the cornerstone for the excellent customer care reputation we have earned with our voice, mobile, IP and data network services," said Franz Schuller, CEO, DATAKOM. "XevoWorks ability to scale as we grow our own service offerings will help us reach increased revenue targets predicted for our ASP-enabling offerings."
Xevo reports that, together with Siemens and Microsoft, it is working with DATAKOM to establish a infrastructure to roll out its ASP enabling services. "DATAKOM has an impressive track record of service provisioning and management excellence," said Michael Dering, president and CEO, Xevo Corp. "We are excited to be the service management solution selected to help them implement and deploy successful software-as-services offerings to its customer base."
