Los Altos-based Fireclick snared top honors at this week's Internet Commerce Expo (ICE) in San Jose for its soon-to-be-released Netflame service. Fireclick won a Best of Show, End-to-End eCommerce Solutions award for Netflame, set to debut officially on September 25. Netflame is a new application service designed for eCommerce and content web sites. Similar to Fireclick's Blueflame software which speeds up Web performance, Netflame will instead be an online service hosted by Fireclick.

Like its flagship Blueflame software, the Netflame application service is designed to resolve slow Web performance by correcting the "last mile" problem. By predictively pre-downloading pages or elements of pages to a user's browser cache, Blueflame and Netflame accelerates content delivery to web surfers

"Netflame is an accelerator," says a Fireclick spokesperson. "End users who visit a Netflame-enabled site will not have to do anything to enjoy the improved performance."

The award was the second go-around for Fireclick, whose Blueflame won at the ICE show earlier this year in April. "We are thrilled that for the second time this year, Fireclick has received such a distinction," said Ram Srinivasan, CEO of Fireclick. "Receiving this type of recognition from such a highly regarded industry event only reiterates Fireclick's leading position among content acceleration solutions."
