Salesforce.com Travels Abroad

Online CRM company opens offices on two continents in an attempt at reaching a global audience.

Online customer relationship management (CRM) company, Salesforce.com, Monday said it is opening offices in Dublin, Ireland and Tokyo, Japan as part of its global services strategy.

The San Francisco-based company offers an online place for a company's Sales, Marketing, and Support division to manage and share comprehensive customer information.

As part of the global expansion, Salesforce.com's board Monday appointed former Oracle executive, John Appleby to lead international efforts. Appleby will work out of the Dublin, Ireland offices.

"We're pleased to provide companies around the globe with powerful, scalable CRM services previously available only to those willing and able to spend millions of dollars on traditional enterprise software," says John Dillon, president and CEO of Salesforce.com.

The company's CRM is an online subscription service that charges $50 per user per month in the U.S. with the first five users free for a limited trial period. Pricing in Europe is as EUR / euro 55 or 35 pounds sterling and 5,000 yen in Japan.
