NetLedger Teams with SBA

Small business ASP and the Small Business Administration form partnership to introduce integrated hosted applications to Northern California companies.

Web service provider NetLedger today announced a partnership with the Small Business Administration (SBA), allowing the Oracle Small Business Suite, which is based on NetLedger software technology, to better reach small businesses in Northern California.

As part of the agreement, the Oracle Small Business Suite will be introduced to small business owners and entrepreneurs through technology training and seminar initiatives in the SBA's Northern California entrepreneur centers in San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose.

Under the Oracle Small Business Suite brand, the San Mateo, Calif.-based NetLedger and Redwood City, Calif.-based Oracle offer integrated accounting, payroll, customer relationship management, purchasing and e-commerce applications to small businesses, typically with fewer than 100 employees.

"The SBA and Oracle Small Business share the same goal of helping small businesses succeed, and this partnership will help both of our organizations to achieve this goal," said Jim LaBelle, vice president of marketing for NetLedger.

"This is such a great chance for SBA to continue to help businesses use technology in a smarter way," said Darlene McKinnon, SBA's Deputy District Director. "We know it's important for us to get businesses good information, and I think this will help."

NetLedger is an ASPnews Top 20 ASP. In June, the company formed a partnership with Oracle to provide its Web-based applications on a private-label basis. (See NetLedger to Power Oracle Small Business)
