The Next Business Amazon Wants to Disrupt? Grocery Shopping
Waiting in line at a grocery store is a pain that I know all too well. Sure there are self-service checkout, but inevitably those end up being slower than full-service checkouts anyways.
Now Amazon is set to launch in early 2017 a new zero-checkout approach to grocery shopping. All the shopper needs to do is can a QR code in the Amazon Go app walking into the store and that's it. Shoppers don't need to scan individual items. Rather Amazon is making use of all kinds of techniques to be able to identify when a given shopper pick up an item and walks out of the store with it.
Amazon, a company that was founded on the idea of being an online marketplace, is now set to revolution the real 'market'.
