USA.NET Rolls Out Four New Message Services

E-mail and messaging service USA.NET Thursday rolled out four scalable message outsourcing solutions for businesses, service providers and Web portals.

USA.NET hopes to woo companies that want extensive e-mail services, but do not want to operate their own system.

"These days, few companies need the hassle and high costs associated with operating an on-premise e-mail messaging system," said John Street, USA.NET chairman. "E-mail outsourcing is a comprehensive solution for companies seeking to cut costs, improve security and increase their speed to market."

The four new services are: USA.NET Professional Messaging, USA.NET Enterprise Messaging, USA.NET Web Messaging, and USA.NET Carrier Messaging.

USA.NET Professional Messaging offers a branded e-mail address to small-business employees, including traveling, branch office or dealer/distributor employees. USA.NET Enterprise Messaging outsources the installation, operation and support of a full-feature in-house messaging system for enterprise organizations.

The last two services are resell options targeting service providers and Web portals. USA.NET Web Messaging offers messaging services which Web portals can offer to customers, and USA.NET Carrier Messaging allows service providers to resell POP3 or Web-based e-mail accounts to individual customers.

USA.NET's messaging services customers include Netscape Communications Corp., American Express Travel Related Services Company, Inc. and register.com.
