GoTo.com, 24/7 Media Launch Affiliate Search Services

GoTo.com Monday launched an addition to its affiliate program, allowing any Web site to incorporate its search functions for free into its site.

Called the Search Syndication Network, it builds on the company's affiliate program, which pays sites for driving users to GoTo.com. Membership is estimated at 40,000, the firm said. With the search network, affiliates can incorporate the GoTo.com search console to their sites.

Included in the console is banner advertising placement, made available through GoTo.com's partnership with 24/7 Media Inc. Affiliates that opt to use 24/7 banners will retain a majority of the advertising revenue.

"The Search Syndication Network transforms each network affiliate site into a stronger and more profitable destination," said Jeffrey Brewer, GoTo.com's chief executive officer.

". . .Our integrated search offering combines GoTo's renowned search functionality with 24/7 Media's strong advertising base, providing destination Web sites with a means of adding greater content depth and new sources of traffic and revenue to their site."

Unlike other search sites, GoTo.com offers advertisers a pay-for-performance search engine where companies can pay to make themselves more relevant to users typing in keywords.
