Global Media and MCI WorldCom Sign Network Deal
Global Media this week signed an exclusive agreement with MCI WorldCom for it to provide bandwidth network continuity to the Global Media Broadcast Network's streaming media Internet environment.
The data communication services of MCI WorldCom will provide the Global Media Broadcast Network with transmission capabilities in signaling video and audio data to radio stations, television stations and other media companies.
Global Media Broadcast Network initiatives will include an integrated broadcasting e-commerce solution for radio stations, including automated encoding, back end services to manage and monitor broadcasts, with an e-commerce element that lets members generate advertising, merchandising, and promotional revenue.
RealNetworks will support the expansion of The Global Media Broadcast Network and its e-commerce solutions through targeted co-marketing to users of the Real Broadcast Network (RBN), the company said.
