Netscape Communications Thursday added a slew of the Net's most popular search engines to its newly-launched Netscape Search utility.
When visiting the search site, users have the option to search from each of the partners. Users can conduct general searches, explore topics, find a person or business and look for a specific merchant or product.
Netscape Search is built on the firm's Open Directory Project, which relies on more than 8,900 volunteer editors to find and categorize sites based on individuals' areas of interest and expertise. The intent is to offer search results that are more relevant and timely than a standard search engine.
"For our members, ease-of-use and relevancy are critical. We believe we are delivering one of the widest arrays of choices in the industry in order to help our consumers find the information they need both quickly and easily."
