Fortune China Goes Online

Time Inc. and Hong Kong-based publishing company CCI Asia-Pacific Ltd have launched an online edition of Fortune China.

CCI has published the print version of Fortune China on behalf of Time since the Chinese language edition was launched in 1996.

"Going online allows Fortune China to cater to the rapidly growing Internet community in China which by 2005 is estimated to be the second largest online population in the world," said John Marcom, president of Time in Asia.

"This is a tremendous opportunity for Time Inc. to expand the brand of Fortune and we are excited that this site marks our entry into local language Web publishing," added Marcom.

"By launching FortuneChina.com we are continuing to rise to the challenge of serving the management information needs of China's senior managers," said Tom Gorman, president of CCI Asia-Pacific Ltd.

CCI also has a formed a Hong Kong joint venture with Cleveland-based Penton Media Inc. to publish Internet World Asia and China Internet World, scheduled for launch in November this year.

Currently, CCI publishes the mainland Chinese versions of Air Transport World and Electronic Design for Penton.
