Rolling Stone Lands at Lycos

Portal site Lycos, Inc. Tuesday began hosting content from music magazine and Web site Rolling Stone.

Rollingstone.com parent company Tunes.com has created a co-branded site, found at rollingstone.lycos.com. The site combines RollingStone.com artist archives, daily music news, photo gallery, reviews and feature stories with Lycos' search engine to provide comprehensive music information.

No financial information on the alliance was disclosed.

The site adds to Lycos' other music properties, the Lycos Radio Network and MP3 search engine. Jan Horsfall, vice president of marketing for Lycos, said that the portal is working to meet its users need for music resources.

"As the Lycos community continues to grow, we aim to offer our users the fastest and easiest access to content they love," said Horsfall. "The RollingStone.com content is broad and deep and gives our users a trusted source for music reviews, news and artist profiles."

"Lycos is an important addition to our list of alliances," said Howard A. Tullman, CEO and chairman of Tunes.com. "Its growing community of users expands the audience for our content and our advertisers."
