New Bid.Com Execs to Lead International Expansion

Bid.Com International has appointed two new executives to lead the company in its planned expansion to Europe and Asia.

Hamish Sutherland was named Managing Director, Asia-Pacific; and Aidan Rowsome was named Managing Director, Europe.

Sutherland joins Bid.Com from the Australian Trade Commission where he was responsible for the development of channel and market strategies for a variety of technology businesses in the software and telecommunications industries.

Rowsome brings extensive experience in the software and Internet fields in Europe. Most recently, Rowsome was director of operations and senior Internet consultant with Ireland's Nua Limited, a leading internet publishing company.

"The opportunities outside North America to execute our business-to-business strategy and license our proprietary technologies are tremendous," said Jeff Lymburner, Bid.Com's president and CEO.

"The European market alone is expected to triple over the next four years. The addition of such high caliber executive talent will help to accelerate our entry into the Asia-Pacific and European markets. By positioning ourselves through strategic worldwide alliances and partnerships, we will further solidify the value inherent in our auction platform."

Bid.Com, founded in 1995, is an online auction sales organization, with offices in Toronto, Tampa, Florida, and Dublin.
