Sprint to Trial Net2Phone Services for International Calling

Net2Phone Inc., a leading provider of voice-enhanced Internet services, announced Wednesday that Sprint will test its voice-over-IP technology for consumer long distance calls to Asia.
Dubbed Sprint Callternatives, the service will enable calls to Japan, Taiwan, Vietnam, Hong Kong, China and India and will help Net2Phone expand its IP services to other countries.
Net2Phone will create a regular daily customer service operation to assist customer inquiries in Mandarin, Cantonese and Korean languages. Also, the company's advanced billing technology will let Sprint Callternative clients to view their telephone accounts in real time from the Net2Phone web site.
The deal is beneficial to Net2Phone because it will be primed to offer more low-cost and value-added services in countries that become open to the market.
Net2Phone develops and markets services for IP voice and e-commerce solutions for the Web.
Global Communications company Sprint boasts $17 billion in annual revenuesand serves over 20 million businesses and residences.
