Burnt Sand Awarded Contract for Internet-Enabled VOD

Burnt Sand Solutions Inc. has been awarded a contract by US-based e-VideoTV, Inc. to develop an Internet-based e-commerce solution for video on demand (VOD).

The solution includes a self-service ordering system, secure electronic payment and an Internet-to-cable head end delivery infrastructure.

Burnt Sand has been retained as eVideo's prime solutions partner for the development and deployment of this e-Commerce business model. The eVideo solution allows consumers to search, order and pay for movies from eVideo's site and receive the movie through the cable television network to their home television.

Initially, Burnt Sand's e-Strategy practice designed the e-commerce business applications architecture. Using the Java programming language, Netscape's Application Server and an Oracle database, the software development team from Burnt Sand is designing and developing a computerized ordering and payment system, via the Internet.

Burnt Sand has also assembled a team of engineers from the cable industry to architect the turnkey cable head end delivery infrastructure. For consumers in North America, this technology offers an alternative method of ordering and receiving movies for home viewing.

"Burnt Sand is developing the end-to-end solution for eVideo as a contracted strategic Internet e-Solutions provider," stated Burnt Sand's chairman and CEO, Jim Yeates.
