Installation will begin at USA Today's Washington, D.C., office, followed by its New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles locations.
"We picked the LiveWave Broadcast systems based on their superior remote camera control capabilities, powerful and user friendly interface, and the strong integration support we received from the LiveWave staff," said Victor Murphy, of USA Today.
LiveWave's cameras will feed live and taped reports to 22 television stations owned by USA Today's parent company, Gannet. Print reporters from USA Today will be interviewed about news stories via cameras remotely controlled at a production studio in McLean,Va.
The company's technology enables a single person to control remote cameras from any Internet or network connection. The operator can also adjust the robotic camera for white balance, shutter speed and timing, as well as audio.

Live feeds will also appear at the newspaper's Web site, www.usatoday.com.
LiveWave's systems have a range of applications including: broadcast media; cable TV networks; industrial video; closed circuit TV; monitoring and distance learning. The company's control software is patent-pending.
In addition to Boston, the company has offices in Newport, R.I. LiveWave is privately held and venture-backed by Zero Stage Capital and others.
