USWeb to Acquire Ikonic Interactive

USWeb Corp. announced today an agreement to acquire interactive technology solutions provider Ikonic Interactive.

San Francisco-based Ikonic's clients include Time Warner, American Express Travel, General Motors of Canada, Microsoft, News Corp., Pacific Bell, Prudential Investments, SegaSoft, Standard & Poor's, and Virgin Records America.

The company is well-known for its work developing Time Warner's Pathfinder Web site.

"Ikonic's approach to 'Building Businesses on the Web' helps clients transform every part of their business value chain," said Ikonic chairman Robert May. "Merging with USWeb strengthens Ikonic's ability to deliver a full spectrum of Internet-based solutions worldwide and deepen relationships with our multinational clientele."

Financial terms were not disclosed.

In a separate announcement today, USWeb said it will also acquire UK-based Xplora Limited, a corporate Internet consulting company that serves clients including BBC Worldwide, Compaq, and Microsoft.

USWeb, of Santa Clara, CA, focuses on business strategy consulting, needs analysis, architecture planning, solution design and development for the Internet market. The company has alliances with industry leaders Hewlett-Packard, Intel, Microsoft, and Sun Microsystems.
