NBC Launches “VideoSeeker” Internet Video Service

NBC will debut VideoSeeker this week, an on-demand Internet video service and content site it is delivering in conjunction with InterVU Inc.

NBC said the site will offer online video entertainment, including live
Webcasts from NBC as well as other partners and programmers. A variety of
streaming and downloadable video content is to be featured, including clips from “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” “Access Hollywood” celebrity interviews, and music videos from online music site myLAUNCH.

VideoSeeker content is to include programming from MSNBC and NBC
Interactive Neighborhood, along with interviews, quizzes, and a special search engine.

NBC said InterVU will manage and distribute all video, audio, and multimedia for VideoSeeker via its proprietary network, incorporating embedded video, informative text captions, and hyperlinks.

NBC owns a 10% stake in InterVU, which is currently the exclusive provider
of technical services and management for all NBC Web sites. The company
caters to cable/TV networks, Web sites, Internet Service Providers (ISPs), advertisers, and advertising agencies.

InterVU’s proprietary network manages the distribution of video from
multiple backbones and uses a specialized software system for routing and distributing video over the Internet.
