Compaq Launches its Cairo Office

Bolstering its high international sales, Compaq Corp. plans this week to launch its Cairo office. The move is another contribution to the wave of technology endeavors in the region.
With the success of policies governing the entry of foreign investment and the introduction of strong legislation for copyright protection two years ago, international interest in the Egyptian IT market is on the rise.
The opening of offices by several international IT companies over the last two years clearly demonstrates that foreign companies sense the time is right to invest in the dynamic market and export success which is emerging in Egypt.
Before this official opening, The Egyptian territory was managed by Compaq (CPQ) Computer Middle East, Mediterranean and Africa which is based in the Jebel Ali Free Zone in Dubai. The office directs a regional network of resellers offering its full range of quality products and services.
