EasyNet Joins UK's ADSL Fray

Easynet Wednesday extended a free three-month trial offer to potential ADSL access subscribers in the UK.

The company's ADSL service will be initially available to a limited number of business customers in London. Nationwide rollout is scheduled for next year.

"Achieving early mover advantage in DSL in the UK is good news, and hastens the goal of providing a pan European service," said David Rowe, Easynet Group PLC's chairman and CEO.

Easynet's Belgian subsidiary launched its own ADSL service earlier this month.

ADSL is just hitting the market in the UK, with British Telecom's service launched in July. AOL Europe followed up the same week with its announcement of plans to trial its ADSL package first in the UK.
