Open Market also said it agreed to provide Intel with its Transact e-commerce software product for Intel Pentium II-based servers running Windows NT and for Intel's next-generation IA-64 processors.
In addition, Open Market revealed that both companies plan to develop Open Market software for Intel Architecture servers and will jointly market their efforts.
Other Open Market products such as LiveCommerce cataloging software and Folio information management software already run on Intel-based platforms.
"Working with Intel to port and optimize Transact on Intel Architecture servers should provide significant price/performance benefits for our enterprise customers and allow Open Market to enhance its position as a leading enterprise application software provider to the corporate market."
Burlington, MA-based Open Market's Transact product, which was launched in 1995, serves as the commercial backbone for highly-trafficked sites such as Time Warner's Pathfinder.
