Perhaps the ultimate souvenir of the 2000 presidential election is now available for sale. Twenty authentic voting machines used in the election are available to the public today on Liquidation.com, an online surplus exchange with headquarters in Washington, D.C. These machines, complete with an actual presidential ballot, are being auctioned as part of the upgrade process ordered by Wisconsin election officials.
The individual Votomatic machines will be sold (Dutch auction) to the highest bidder.
The Saint Croix County, Wisconsin, assignment for the sale of Votomatic ballot-counting machines follows Liquidation.com's previous successful sale of surplus assets for other governmental entities.
"One thing we have learned over the years in the sale of Government assets, every day brings unique opportunities. Liquidation.com is able to offer these ballot counting machines to the public due to our unique ability to work with governments and sell their surplus assets," said Billy Burke, executive vice president of government surplus for Liquidation.com.
In addition to these machines, Liquidation.com is currently auctioning over $100 million of corporate and government surplus including, a Falcon 20 D-731-5 Jet Aircraft, a Corvette SN-601 Jet Aircraft and more than $6 million in industrial metalworking machines.
