The provider of mobile consumer information and entertainment applications will bring its mobile software to ALLTEL customers' Axcess-enabled phones, which include the Motorola T720 and Toshiba CDM 9500. The software will provide users of the ALLTEL Axcess suite of wireless data services with real-time updates and unlimited access to restaurant reviews, shopping and museum exhibits, as well as locations of the nearest ATMs, post offices, gas stations and copy shops. Vindigo 2.0 integrates brand-name content, including ratings and reviews from The New York Times and The Washington Post.
The MovieGoer application adds more to the mix, with reviews and ratings from top critics, movie synopses, show times, theater information, and driving directions with full-color maps. The application also allows customers to view full-color posters on their phones.
Under the deal, the Vindigo 2.0 application would appear as a monthly charge on the customer's phone bill.
"Vindigo combines all the resources of city guides, phone books, entertainment guides and more into a customer friendly application for mobile phones," said Jason Devitt, chief executive officer of Vindigo. "It's convenience will help ALLTEL customers make faster, better decisions -- at home or while traveling to new cities across the U.S."
