Dell, Rogers, Shaw Alliance Offers PCs with Free Net Access

Dell Canada, Rogers@Home and Shaw@Home have partnered to offer Dell's customers one year of unlimited cable Internet access from @Home with a PC purchase.

The access plan is available to consumers who choose a computer from Dell's Dimension or Inspiron line.

"Providing Canadian home and home office customers with a simple one-stop computing and high-speed Internet access solution is a key part of our business development strategy," said Ken Constable, vice president and general manager, Home and Small Business Division, Dell Canada.

"The growth of Rogers@Home is a clear indication of consumer interest in high speed access to the Internet," said Alek Krstajic, vice president and general manager, Rogers @Home, "and this partnership with Dell makes it even easier for our customers to combine the purchase of a quality computer, with high speed internet access from Rogers@Home."

In anticipation of the success of this relationship and the growth of the Shaw@Home product, Shaw Communications recently announced major investments in its fiber optic network.

Customers will also be able to purchase the @Home service when they design their own Dell system. Users must be in a Rogers@Home or Shaw@Home serviceable area to receive this service.
