Marblehead, Mass.-based WiredBots has launched a database of tools and troubleshooting tips aimed at developers of instant messaging bots.

The company styles itself as an online resource for the creation and marketing of IM bots that run on America Online's AIM and Microsoft's MSN Messenger platforms.

"We are the first and only company to provide a complete resource for bot making. We are open-sourcing our tools and resources for anyone interesting in making these bots, so that information-delivery can truly be at everyone's fingertips," said Chris McClelland, founder of WiredBots.

He said the database would provide a collection of bot tutorials, modifications, add-ons, commands and other hints for users wishing to create or modify instant messaging bots. McClelland said the BotBase section of the site would be user-generated, allowing developers to list tools and instructions for IM bot-building. It would also maintain a complete list of all instant messaging bots ever created.
