Sonicbox Acquires StreamQuest

Sonicbox, Inc. has announced the acquisition of StreamQuest, developer of stand-alone streaming audio devices, which holds intellectual property and patent filings pertaining to Internet radio.

The company also announced that StreamQuest's founder, Jonathan Sass, has joined the Sonicbox team as vice president of Business Development. No other terms of the deal were disclosed.

Some of StreamQuest's patents relating to Internet Radio hardware and services have already been incorporated into the previously announced Sonicbox imBand Tuning Modules for stand-alone Web radio appliances. StreamQuest also brings to Sonicbox the trademark of imRadio, reinforcing the existing Sonicbox trademarks of Internet Modulation, IM and imBand.

Sonicbox imBand Tuning is a combination of hardware, software and services, which listeners use to find stations from across the globe, add in their own favorite stations and play lists, find out more about the music they hear, buy music they like, and tell stations what they think of their content.
