Chapters Online, Microsoft Canada Expand E-tail Relationship

As part of the agreement, Chapters.ca is now selling hardware products from Microsoft within its electronics section. Canadian consumers will also be able to pre-order Windows 2000 later this month.
In addition to being able to purchase Microsoft software, Canadians can find a range of Microsoft equipment products, the company said
"There is a high demand for Microsoft products in Canada and this relationship makes it easier for Canadians to purchase these items online," said Greg Barber, national retail sales manager for Microsoft Canada.
The Gardencrazy.com Web site features a wide selection of plants as well as gardening apparel, tools, and accessories. Its features are expected to be added to the main Chapters site as a new category, in addition to the separate Web site.
In September, Chapters Online became a publicly traded, separate company from Chapters Inc. Chapters Inc., Canada's largest book retailer, retains a majority ownership stake in Chapters Online and together the companies operate e-commerce kiosks at all Chapters stores across Canada.
