Stox.com Launches Real-Time Market Data Site

stox.com Inc. has unveiled its market data Web site www.stox.com.

The new service is the result of 18 months work in building a private network that connects directly to the North American equities markets as well as information and analytic sources.

The company will offer a free version of the site providing content from the industry information sources including analyst and broker ratings, insider trading reports, advanced charting, and more.

Users will then be able to upgrade to receive real-time information in economical packages ranging from $29.95 to $39.95 plus applicable exchange fees.

Depending on the package, services include: real-time streaming quotes, indepth analysis and financials, real-time news, real-time quotes, trade history and house positions, real-time market indices, real-time portfolios, access to real-time streaming market depth and Nasdaq level ii, and real-time alerts by e-mail, pager, or cell phone.

According to stox.com, an estimated 25-30 percent of all trades conducted by individuals are now done online, and the online trading industry added 1.2 million accounts in the first quarter of 1999.

Nevertheless, there are only approximately 100 online brokerage firms, with online trading accounting for only 14 percent of all stock trading.

Stox.com is aiming to provide many of the thousands of other brokerage firms with the products and services they need to successfully enter the online financial services market.

The company leverages its global private network to deliver solutions for the development of online trading systems, real-time market data and financial information, and private labeled Web applications for the online financial community.
