Online job portal and ecorp plan to launch a joint venture career network in Hong Kong to gain a foothold into Asia.

In a project that is 35 per cent owned by ecorp, the online arm of Kerry Packer's Publishing Broadcasting Ltd., the pair will combine resources to push business opportunities in Asia.

With a 65 per cent stake, will launch for Hong Kong, adding to its existing operations in New Zealand, Singapore, UK, US, Australia, Canada, the Netherlands, Belgium and France.

The site will offer job seekers access to's searchable jobs database of employment opportunities in Hong Kong and abroad and other employment services.

"Hong Kong is an ideal location for Monster because it supports many of our global clients, Internet penetration is high and there is a strong labour market," said chief executive officer Jeff Taylor. will tailor the Hong Kong service to emphasise the local nature of the site.
