ACT Announces European Video Streaming Launch

ACT Teleconferencing, Inc., a provider of audio, video, data and Internet conferencing products and services,

The launch culminated with a three-hour broadcast for ACT's (ACTT) Netherlands-based client Bedrijfs Telecommunicatie Grootgebruikers (BTG), which is an association of telecommunications managers representing the top 200 international companies in Holland. BTG members include Shell Oil, Siemens, Ericsson, Philips, Reuters, ABN AMRO Bank and IBM.

To use the service, BTG members enter a user I.D. to access a video stream of information meetings held as part of the organization's annual conference. The presentations were videotaped by ACT, then streamed a few days later to BTG members who could not attend the event. The technology allows the viewer to access video content at a convenient time, once it has been posted online.

Streaming technology gives organizations such as BTG the capability to reach thousands of people with a professional, consistent message over the Internet, says Ineke Boneschansker, marketing manager for ACT Teleconferencing -- Netherlands.

"This service can then be supplemented with our traditional conference call service for interactive conversations," he said. "There are a variety of applications that are ideal for our new video streaming service, including multipoint video conferences, investor relations campaigns, consultancy, training and company-wide communications."
