Sure the Force is all-powerful, but Darth Vader never had to deal with an e-mail server.

Looking to keep its legions of Star Wars fans up-to-date on the latest saga from George Lucas and company, TheForce.Net Monday announced its is employing the rebel forces of Campbell-based Rockliffe to provide its e-mail list services.

"Given that fans are practically lining up outside the theaters now for a movie that opens next May, we understand how seriously they take their Star Wars news, and we're happy to help deliver that to them," says Rockliffe Director and Star Wars fan Dan Arndt.

TheForce.Net has been the go-to place for George Lucas Star Wars films and related insider information since 1997. The site has grown to include news, spoilers for upcoming films and books, fan films, fan art, fan stories, editorials and newsletters.

Rockliffe's MailSite program includes POP/SMTP, Web interface for account access, web archiving for mailing lists.

All of this is good for a fan site that reports between 30,000 and 50,000 unique visitors daily, and the message boards that get between 5,000 and 6,000 posts daily.
