Searching on Google is about to get easier - if that is even possible.
Fremont, Calif.-based Logitech, which makes mice and keyboards, Tuesday says it is making the Mountain View, Calif.-based company's search engine the default "search" option on its iTouch products.
Under the new deal, when users press the "search" button on the Logitech iTouch keyboard, customers will instantly launch a Web search on Google.
"We are very excited with this opportunity to partner with Logitech as their search provider in the iTouch package," says Google co-founder and president of products Larry Page. "With Google and Logitech working together, we enrich the Internet search and computing experience for all Logitech users."
The feature is now available for new customers who install MouseWare Version 9.29 and iTouch software Version 1.70 and above. Both are shipping with Logitech's new fall line-up of keyboards.
For people using Logitech scrolling mice and keyboards equipped with search buttons, an upgrade to the new software is available at the Logitech Web site.
The iTouch suite also offers multimedia access and control, instant e-mail and immediate transport to favorite Web sites.
