Upcoming IPOs: Sequoia Software and Emerald Solutions

The unsure market condition is testing, (or is it hazing) IPO investors as more companies are bailing out of the IPO market. Techies, Linuxcare, and Zefer have withdrew their IPOs. What was once a crowded agenda is now trimmed down to the bone.

So, what is coming up?

Sequoia Software's XML Portal Server (XPS) lets Sequoia's customers create interactive information environments so employees, customers, suppliers and strategic partners can share and update information in real-time. XML Portal Server is based on the eXtensible Markup Language (XML), which eliminates the need to re-key data when used by more than one application. Yes, XML is hot (at least for now).

Sequoia Software recently entered into a partnership with Phyve. They plan to provide healthcare institutions with the ability to get lab reports, insurance information, radiology reports, physician and transcriptions from various formats and systems, while providing Internet security and confidentiality of patient information.

Sequoia, founded in 1992, is headquartered in Columbia, Maryland. Sequoia's overseas operations are based in Dublin, Ireland. Some of their customers include Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Minnesota, Prudential Insurance, and the State of Texas.

Lehman Brothers is the lead underwriter. The ticker symbol is SQSW and the price range is $8 to $10.

If your having trouble reading the financial disclosers, then TrueVision International has the thing for you. They use state-of-the-art excimer lasers to correct vision. They also sell glasses and contact lenses.

They have two vision-correction centers in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Las Vegas, Nevada. They plan to open more clinics and to add more cosmetic procedures to its offerings.

Kashner Davidson Securities Corporation is the lead underwriter. The proposed ticker symbol is TRUU and the price is $18.10.

Emerald Solutions works with Fortune 1000 companies and those just starting to develop their Internet strategies. Emerald Solutions provides custom software development and helps companies build Web storefronts.

For example, Emerald Solutions is helping PointsBeyond.com to develop the company's Web site for outdoor adventure enthusiasts. This Web site will offer weekly local outdoor adventures to the estimated 66 million U.S. outdoor enthusiasts. Some of Emerald Solutions other customers include AT&T, Bell Atlantic, GTE, and Pfizer.
